रामनामी’ समुदाय की पहचान – दोस्तो इस समुदाय के लोग पूरे शरीर पर, यहां तक कि जीभ और होठों पर भी ‘राम नाम’ गोदवा लेते थे. शरीर पर राम नाम का टैटू (गोदना), रामनामी चादर, मोरपंख की पगड़ी और घुंघरू इनकी पहचान है।

जीवन का उद्देश्य – मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम भगवान राम की भक्ति और गुणगान ही इनकी जिंदगी का एकमात्र मकसद था, भजन गाते और मस्त रहते. यह ऐसी संस्कृति थी, जिसमें राम नाम को कण-कण में बसाने की परपंरा है।

किन किन जगहो में पाए जाते थे रामनामी – पूर्वी मध्य प्रदेश, झारखंड के कोयला क्षेत्र और छत्तीसगढ़ और भी कई जगहों में रामनामी समुदाय के लोग निवास किया करते थे।।

रामनामी समाज नही पूजते मूर्ति – रामनामी लोग मंदिरों और मूर्तियों को नहीं मानते,रामनामी समाज के लोगों में बचपन से ही श्री राम के प्रति अटूट श्रद्धा है, जिसकी वजह से ही उन्होंने पूरे बदन पर राम का नाम अंकित कर लिया करते थे।

हर जगह बसते है राम – दोस्तो ऐसा कहा जाता है कि करीब सैकड़ों साल पहले किसी गांव में हिंदुओं की ऊंची जाति के लोगों ने इस समाज के लोगों को मंदिर में घुसने से मना कर दिया था, जिसके विरोध स्वरूप इन लोगों ने चेहरे समेत पूरे शरीर पर राम के नाम का गोदना(टैटू) कराना शुरू किया. रामनामी समाज को रमरमिहा के नाम से भी जाना जाता है रामीनामी समुदाय के लोग कण कण में श्री राम का दर्शन करते है।

रामनामी समुदाय का इतिहास – दोस्तो रामनामी समाज के प्रदेश प्रवक्ता मुनु पंडित बताते हैं कि 1885 में बाबा परशुराम ने अपने पूरे शरीर में राम का नाम लिखवाया था. तब उनकी उम्र 53 साल थी. बाबा परशुराम की राम भक्ति को देखकर उनकी धर्मपत्नी गंगाबाई ने भी अपने पूरे शरीर में राम-राम लिखवा लिया. इनके भक्ति और भजन प्रभाव को देखते हुए छत्तीसगढ़ में 200 से ज्यादा गांव में लोगों ने इसी तरह भगवान राम का नाम अपनी देह पर लिखाया था. वे बताते हैं कि उस वक्त करीब 10 हजार लोगों ने राम का नाम अपने शरीर पर लिखा लिया था. उन्होंने बताया कि सबसे पहले 1911 में जांजगीर-चांपा के पिरदा गांव में भगवान राम के भजन मेला की शुरुआत की गई. जिसके बाद से रामनामी समाज की तरफ से हर साल जनवरी के महीने में भजन मेला का आयोजन किया जाता है. मेले में सभी रामभक्त शामिल होकर भगवान राम की भक्ति करते हैं।

कोन कोन से जाति के लोग होते है रामनामी – दोस्तो मुनु पंडित बताते हैं कि सिर्फ एक जाति के लोग ही नहीं बल्कि कई जाति के लोगों ने रामनामी को अपनाया है. उन्होंने बताया कि चंद्राकर, साहू, सारथी, यादव और वैश्य समाज सहित चौहान समाज ने भी राम का नाम अपने शरीर पर लिखवाया था।

Identification of ‘Ramnami’ community – Friends, the people of this community used to get ‘Ram Naam’ tattooed on the whole body, even on the tongue and lips. Tattoos (tattooing) of Ram name on the body, Ramnami chadar, Turban of Morpunkh and Ghungroo are his identity.

Purpose of life – Devotion and praise of Lord Rama Purushottam Lord Rama was the only purpose of his life, singing bhajans and being cool. This was a culture in which there is a tradition of settling the name of Ram in every particle.

In which places Ramnami was found – Eastern Madhya Pradesh, coal fields of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh and many other places where the people of Ramnami community used to reside.

Ramnami society not worshiped idol – Ramnami people do not believe in temples and idols, people of Ramnami society have unwavering reverence for Shri Ram since childhood, due to which they used to inscribe Ram’s name on the whole body.

Rama resides everywhere – Friends, it is said that about hundreds of years ago, in a village, upper caste people of Hindus refused to enter this temple, against which these people, as opposed to the whole body including the face But tattooing of Ram’s name started. Ramnami society is also known as Ramarmiha, people of Ramanami community see Shri Ram in every particle.

History of Ramnami community – Friends, State spokesperson of the Ramnami community, Munu Pandit, says that in 1885, Baba Parshuram had written the name of Ram in his entire body. At that time, he was 53 years old. Seeing Baba Parshuram’s devotion to Ram, his wife Gangabai also got Ram-Ram written all over his body. Seeing their devotion and bhajan effect, people in more than 200 villages in Chhattisgarh had written the name of Lord Rama on their bodies. They say that at that time, about 10 thousand people had written Ram’s name on their bodies.He told that first of all Bhajan Mela of Lord Rama was started in 1911 in Pirda village of Janjgir-Champa. After which the Bhajan Mela is organized every year in the month of January on behalf of the Ramnami society. All the devotees participate in the fair and do devotion to Lord Rama.

Who are the caste people of Ramani? – Friends, Munu Pandit says that not only people of one caste but people of many caste have adopted Ramnami. He told that the Chauhan society including Chandrakar, Sahu, Sarathi, Yadav and Vaishya Samaj had also written Ram’s name on their bodies.
