होलिका दहन की कथा

होलिका दहन कब मनाया जाता है – दोस्तों होलिका दहन पूर्व रात्रि में होलिका दहन किया जाता है।होलिका दहन हर साल फाल्गुन पूर्णिमा की रात में किया जाता है. उसके अगले दिन सुबह को रंग गुलाल वाली होली खेली जाती है।

होलिका दहन की कथा – दोस्तों पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार, जब राक्षसराज हिरण्यकश्यप ने अपने कठोर तपस्या से ब्रह्मा जी को प्रसन्न कर के वरदान मांगा कि उसे कोई भी मनुष्य, पुरुष या महिला, पशु या पक्षी, दिन या रात, घर या बाहर कहीं भी, अस्त्र-शस्त्र से नहीं मार सकता है. दोस्तो ब्रह्मा जी से वरदान पाकर वह स्वयं को भगवान समझने लगा था। वह अपने राज्य में सभी प्रजा को आदेश दिया की सभी उनकी पूजा करे।

दोस्तों हिरण्यकश्यप का पुत्र प्रहलाद जो भगवान श्रीहरि विष्णु का भक्त था. वह भगवान विष्णु की भक्ति में डूबा रहता था. हिरण्यकश्यप ने उसे विष्णु भक्ति छोड़ने को कहा लेकिन प्रहलाद ने माना कर दिया । दोस्तों हिरण्यकश्यप भगवान विष्णु को अपना शत्रु मानने लगा था। हिरण्यकश्यप ने प्रहलाद को कई बार मारने के लिए बहुत प्रयास किए गए जैसे कभी नदी में डूबो कर मारना चाहा, कभी पहाड़ से नीचे फेंका, तो कभी हाथी के पैरों तले कुचलने की कोशिश किया गया लेकिन भगवान श्री विष्णु की कृपा से वह बच गया।

दोस्तों इसके बाद हिरण्यकश्यप ने अपने पुत्र को मारने के लिए अपनी बहन होलिका को आदेश दिया की वह जलती आग में प्रहलाद को लेकर बैठ जाए।दोस्तों होलिका को ब्रह्मा जी से वरदान वरदान मिला था कि वह आग में कभी भी नहीं जलेगी। दोस्तो फाल्गुन रात की पूर्णिमा को होलिका ने प्रहलाद को अपनी गोद में लेकर चिता पर बैठ गई । दोस्तो प्रहलाद इस चिता पर बैठकर भगवान विष्णु का नाम जप रही थी।भगवान विष्णु की कृपा से उस अग्नि में होलिका जल गई और भक्त प्रहलाद बच गया।

इसके बाद हिरण्यकश्यप ने अपने पुत्र को मारने की कोशिश करने लगा इसके बाद भगवान विष्णु ने नरसिंह अवतार लेकर हिरण्यकश्यप को घर के चौखट के बीच अपने तेज नाखूनों से मार डाला। दोस्तों होलिका दहन की यह घटना असत्य पर सत्य की जीत के रुप में मनाया जाता हैं इस कारण फाल्गुन पूर्णिमा को हुई थी, इसलिए हर साल को इस ​तिथि को होलिका दहन किया जाता हैं।

Story of Holika Dahan – Friends, according to the legend, when the demon king Hiranyakashipu pleased Brahma ji with his rigorous penance and asked for a boon that he should be given any man, man or woman, animal or bird, day or night, home or anywhere outside. Can’t kill with weapons. Friends, after getting a boon from Brahma ji, he started considering himself as God. He ordered all the subjects in his kingdom that everyone should worship him.

Friends Prahlad, son of Hiranyakashipu who was a devotee of Lord Srihari Vishnu. He was immersed in the devotion of Lord Vishnu. Hiranyakashipu asked him to give up devotion to Vishnu but Prahlad agreed. Friends, Hiranyakashipu started considering Lord Vishnu as his enemy. Hiranyakashipu tried many times to kill Prahlad like sometimes he wanted to kill by drowning in the river, sometimes thrown down from the mountain, sometimes tried to crush under the feet of an elephant but by the grace of Lord Shri Vishnu he survived.

Friends, after this Hiranyakashipu ordered his sister Holika to kill his son, that she should sit with Prahlad in the burning fire. Friends Holika had a boon from Brahma ji that she would never burn in the fire. Friends, on the full moon night of Falgun night, Holika took Prahlad in her lap and sat on the pyre. Friends Prahlad was chanting the name of Lord Vishnu sitting on this pyre. By the grace of Lord Vishnu, Holika got burnt in that fire and devotee Prahlad was saved.

After this Hiranyakashyap started trying to kill his son, after this Lord Vishnu took the Narasimha avatar and killed Hiranyakashyap with his sharp nails in the middle of the door of the house. Friends, this incident of Holika Dahan is celebrated as the victory of truth over falsehood, for this reason it happened on Falgun Purnima, so Holika Dahan is done every year on this date.
